Undeniably one of the 21st century’s most iconic musical acts. Known for combining dramatically penned songs with astounding visuals in accompanying music videos and concerts, Coldplay’s music touched the lives and hearts of so many people. Hence it is not surprising then, that their very first concert in the Philippines has been attended by fans of all ages and social classes.
Their breakthrough single in 2000, “Yellow”, started it all. Since then came seven dramatic, innovative and creative studio albums which sees the group experimenting with different styles beyond the boundaries of alternative rock. Each is considered by many of their followers as an art form, both lyrically and musically, from the political inspirations of 2008’s “Viva La Vida” and electronic-inspired musical style of 2011’s “Mylo Xyloto”, which by the way also doubled as a play, to finally touching on contemporary pop through their collaborations with the likes of Beyoncé in their most recent album, “A Head Full of Dreams”, released in 2015.
